Anti-microbial protection built into the nylon

Ultrel^™ 1000 SD incorporates Bio-Pruf™ antimicrobial that can prevent the buildup of micro-organisms that cause unpleasant odors, allergic reactions, and mildew and fungus stains.  The anti-microbial agent is added to the nylon at the extrusion stage, for protection that goes to the core of every fiber, to withstand repeated wet cleanings.

Identical carpet fibers were sealed in a petri dish containing a test organism. The fiber on the left was not treated, but the one on the right was treated with Bio-Pruf™  anti-microbial.  The clear area around the treated fiber is the "zone of inhibition" that demonstrates how Ultrel^™ 1000 SD resists the attacks of bacteria and fungus that can cause stains and odors.

Ultrel^™ 1000 SD is solution dyed, so most spots can be removed using standard spot cleaning procedures.  While accidental spills of harsh cleaners like bleach can permanently discolor ordinary nylon, Ultrel's^™ color survives most "crisis" spills.*
