Color Uniformity

|
In a totally automated environment where the possibility of human
error has been eliminated, resin is transported from huge storage silos
and mixed with color pigments and other performance additives. The
mixture is extruded into several different yarn colors and
air-jet-entangled together to create a "heathered" multicolor
blend. At each step along the way, variables such as temperature,
pressure and speed are continuously monitored by computer. Process
parameters are automatically adjusted when necessary to ensure absolute
consistency. Our painstaking attention to uniformity eliminates the
possibility of carpet side match problems caused by uneven dying.

To
make sure they can withstand the rigors of real world spills,
sunlight, and wet cleaning, our chemists subject the fibers to a gauntlet
of laboratory tests and fadeometer hours. Only the pigments that
survive are used in Strudex carpet fibers. |
